Mastering the SAWiT.AI Hackathon 2025
You will enhance the accuracy of the Bhashini LLM (Language Model) powered by Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). By building datasets in one of the 7 Indian languages - Marathi, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali - you’ll help train the LLM to produce outputs in colloquial language, improving its natural language understanding and generation capabilities.
Create the dataset
Create a dataset that helps the LLM generate accurate colloquial language responses.
Train the model
Use Vertex AI to train the LLM with your dataset and optimize its performance.
Test and learn
Test your model twice on the GUVI platform, evaluated through pre-set test cases.

How to Participate
Registration is quick and easy. You can join as an individual, or as a team of up to 3 women. Participants must have registered for the SAWiT.AI Learnathon. But don't worry if you haven’t, there is still time to register.
Individual Participation
You can participate individually if you registered for the SAWiT.AI Learnathon 2024. Take on the challenge solo and showcase your skills as you make a personal impact in the AI world!
Team Participation
Form a team of up to 3 women to bring your ideas to life! At least one member must be registered for the SAWiT.AI Learnathon 2024 to qualify. Teamwork amplifies creativity and problem-solving!
Your Hackathon Journey
Your Hackathon journey will be a captivating, hands-on learning experience, with support from experts all the way. Once your journey is complete, you’re invited to celebrate your - and your peers - successes in front of industry leaders at the Grand SAWiT Celebration.
Introduction & Ideathon
- Kick off the event with an engaging session introducing the Hackathon, its rules, and goals (approximately 1 hour).
- Create a dataset that enables the Bhashini LLM to generate accurate responses in colloquial language.
Iteration & Feedback
- Refine your dataset and model with support from mentors.
- Participate in twice-weekly check-in sessions for valuable feedback and guidance.
- Engage in a mid-term evaluation to track your progress.
Testing and Demo Day
- Present your solutions to a panel of judges.
- Each team will have two attempts to test their models on the GUVI platform, with performance evaluated using pre-set test cases.
- Exciting prizes will be awarded to the top 25 teams, recognizing your hard work and creativity!

You will be evaluated against a simple criteria of your model accuracy and its ability to perform multilingual. This will happen automatically and independently on the Guvi platform.
Teams will be judged based on how accurately their models generate colloquial language responses.
Models must perform effectively across multiple Indian languages to be considered.
All assessments will be conducted automatically on the GUVI platform.
The 25 highest-performing teams based on these criteria will be rewarded.

No, your team members do not need to purchase a SAWiT.AI pass. However, they must create their own SAWiT accounts and complete the verification process. Only once they are verified, can they join your team.
